Gateway content ‘hubs’ can improve search engine ranking. The more specific the content, the more likely that the page will contains words and phrases that match the term entered by a user when searching (and so be assigned a higher ranking by a search engine).
A gateway page is a subpage of a website that caters to a specific audience; either directly: by providing information addressing the needs of that audience; or indirectly: by aggregating content by subject/topic area.
