There comes a time...

There comes a time when one must update the website.

Sometimes, there is much to tell. Sometimes you wonder what’s best to leave out. That bit's usually about Geoff. Others times, there is the continuing saga of finishing ‘the record’ or the tour coming up several months away.

Marineville are in such a time. Wellingtonians may have caught us recently at the Southern Cross on May 24th with Nautilus where it was agreed that everything flowed with the right mix of rhythm and racket. Having recorded recently it was easy to play, we had it down, and we were ready to mess with it somewhat.

Nautilus were pretty cool too, perhaps the new competition for the Timeless Sounds. Is there an oom-pah scene developing in Wellington? And is the Southern Cross the new ‘old bodega’? Send your answers here.

Speaking of the ‘Cross, we are subsequently embarking on an entirely new project, yes indeed, look out for team MarineVille at Quiz night.

Now, about that record, yes it’s nearly there, promise. Just vocals to go, with a September release date. Meanwhile David and Geoff have been mixing furiously.

As you can see from the picture below, David takes this part of the process very seriously. A typical engineering day for David starts with a period of meditation inside a chakra circle of mixing engineer type gadgets. Note the firm jaw. Note the sunglasses, which help provide focus. Naturally, David insists on silence during this time.

Now, that album. We have a title, but Geoff says that all my suggestions sound like 70’s German prog rock records. Not that I can remember any of them but I did once want to call MarineVille ‘The Fat Kid’ so there is some reasonableness about disputing anything I come up with.

Any suggestions, please send them here.

We hope to play again in 6 weeks or so at the Cross.

Otherwise, see you at quiz night.
